Engel Complete Game, Two-Run First Highlight Moberly Win Over Centralia

Moberly baseball notched a 4-1 win over Centralia Tuesday night. The Spartans got on the board early.

Austin Ward with the calls on Glory 97 and centralmoinfo.com. The Panthers scored their lone run in the bottom of the first but struggled to string hits together against Moberly starter Jackson Engel. Engel threw all seven innings and gave up the one run, six hits and two walks while striking out four. Coach Tony Vestal was happy to see him get the complete game.

The Spartans totaled 10 hits.

Engel, Braedon Hunt, Kyler Fanning and Cade Bohm had two-hit nights. Connor Moore reached base in all four of his at-bats. Both Centralia starter Ethan Adams and reliever Mason Presley gave up a run on a wild pitch. Adams delivered the first six innings and took the loss; Presley pitched the seventh. Coach Mike Rodgers…
