During an interview with Regional Radio, where he talked about officers with the Macon Police Department unionizing, Bill Stark, the Director of Local 42, Law Enforcement Division from St. Louis, mentioned that one of the reasons the union was being formed, was because of “internal issues within the Macon Police Department.” Stark wanted to qualify his comments, and indicate that the issues are not with the police chief.

Stark is hoping these issues can be resolved.

But Stark wants to make one point clear.

When we reached out for a comment from Macon city officials about the union, we were provided the following statement, =quote= “The City of Macon recognizes and supports the right of the Police Officers to unionize and are negotiating with them now to setup the terms. It is too early for the City to comment on what those terms will look like at this time.” =end quote=
