Columbia Man Arrested For First-Degree Murder

A Columbia man has been arrested in connection to the assault and homicide of a Columbia woman, 27-year-old Azairah Brownlee. CPD says 27-year-old John Ionce Williamson III was arrested early today (Sat.) for first degree murder, unlawful use of a weapon and armed criminal action. Officers were called to the 1500 block of Typhoon Court in Columbia for a reported assault on Friday night around 10, and found the victim Brownlee with life-threatening injuries. She was transported to a local hospital by ambulance and was later pronounced dead. Anyone with additional information should call Crimestoppers at 573-875-TIPS to remain anonymous.
