Leadership at the Soy Transportation Coalition is voicing cautious optimism about aspects of the Biden Administration’s proposed two-point-three trillion dollar infrastructure program dubbed the American Jobs Plan. Executive Director Mike Steenhoek says he’s pleased to see mentioned a critical need for ensuring the integrity of rural roads.

Steenhoek says the proposal recognizes that transportation needs extend beyond roads and bridges.

Soy Transportation Coalition executive director Mike Steenhoek notes that other rural needs are included in the American Jobs Plan, including additional funds to extend broadband access and improve drinking water supplies. However, he does caution that several parts of the proposal might not meet everyone’s definition of infrastructure.
