The City of Clarence will be placing a 30 cent property tax issue on the April ballot. City Clerk Cindy Bowman says the city is nearing the completion of purchasing the elementary school from the South Shelby School District.

If approved, the property tax would be eligible for a renewal vote every four years. Bowman says Clarence will have lots of options for how to utilize the building.

This property tax is one of two tax issues the council passed for the April ballot. The other is a use tax which will allow the city to collect online sales taxes.
