CLAA Contest as Northwestern Travels to Brunswick

Brunswick welcomes CLAA opponent Northwestern to its gym for a matchup Wednesday night. The Eagles defeated the Lady Wildcats 42-31 in an early season matchup. Brunswick coach Keith Berger hopes the result will be different this time around.

Lady Wildcat Joslynn Brown averages 14 points and pulls down nearly 16 rebounds per game. Northwestern is led by coach Blake Burns with a 6-5 record.

The boys matchup includes 8-5 Brunswick, who returns every player from last year’s sectional round team. Junior Colby Jenkins leads the team in scoring with 12 points per game. Coach Colton Byrd says his squad hit the ground running in the off season.

The Eagles look to eclipse the .500 mark with a 6-6 record heading into the contest. Senior leader Landon Winn averages over 21 points for Northwestern. Coach Lucas Hart wants his team to play with pace.

Northwestern has won five of the last six matchups on the boy’s side. You can hear the broadcast on 104.7 KRES and centralmoinfo.com, with coverage beginning at 5:45. Steven Findley Jr will have the play-by-play.
