Christmas Eve house fire in Macon

The Macon Fire Department reports a structure fire occurred at 9:30 p.m. on Christmas Eve in the 300 block of East Union. First arriving units encountered heavy fire from two rear first floor windows of the two-story house. The fire was brought under control in less than two hours and all units cleared the scene just before 3 a.m. The Macon Fire Department was assisted by the Macon Rural Fire Department, Macon County Ambulance District, Macon Police Department and Macon Municipal Utilities. No suspicious activity was found to be a contributor to the fire.
