The Chariton County Health Center has been reporting a rising number of active cases of COVID-19 over the past week. The Chariton County Health Center’s Tuesday report showed 17 new cases bringing the number of active COVID-19 cases in the county to 51. Chariton County Health Center Administrator Carrie Scheid says community spread is the main culprit for the increase in cases.

The new cases are being reported across all age brackets. Scheid explains how the contact tracing process has been going over the past week.

In an effort to stop the spread of the virus, Scheid advises residents to take the following steps.
