Charges Filed For Wendy’s Parking Lot Fight

The Moberly man arrested for an assault at Wendy’s Tuesday night has been formally charged with third degree assault and unlawful use of a weapon. The Moberly Police Department arrested 19-year-old Alexander McConnell early Wednesday morning. According to a probable cause statement, McConnell was working at the restaurant, and had asked his wife to bring their one month old baby to the restaurant during his break. She asked a male friend for a ride, and McConnell was upset about the man carrying the baby’s car seat. The woman told police that McConnell displayed a knife towards her friend in a threatening manner, but did not stab him. She said McConnell eventually punched the man in the throat and kicked him in the ribs. The report indicates McConnell was fired after the altercation.
