Another wrestler that redeemed a state final loss from last year was Centralia’s Brayden Dubes. Dubes was the lone state champion for Centralia. Coach Luke Gramke was pleased despite his team not finishing at the top of the podium.

Palmyra’s Collin Arch defeated Hallsville’s Gavynn Carpenter in the 132 finals. The win was the sophomore’s second state title and he maintains an undefeated career record.

Palmyra finished sixth as a team. In another All-Big K state final, Tolton senior Brant Whitaker clinched his third straight state title with a 16-2 win over Marceline’s Hunter Nelson.

Other state finalists included Brookfield’s Trace Alexander, who fell 5-1, and Centralia’s Seth Hasekamp, who lost by fall. You can find a full list of area Class 1 All-State wrestlers below.
