Bill Would Restrict Health Departments’ Ability to Fight Pandemics

The Special House Committee on Small Business heard a bill last week that would limit health departments closing businesses during a pandemic to 15 days. After that, the department would have to get approval from the State Department of Health and Senior Services. State Representative Danny Busick is on the committee, and he says they’ve heard from dozens of business owners.
House Bill 75 is sponsored by Representative Jim Murphy of St. Louis.
