The House Agriculture Policy Committee heard testimony last week on legislation that would extend the New Generation Cooperative Tax Incentive program. State Representative Danny Busick of Newtown says the program encourages farmers to form cooperatives to add value to products.

Busick says the program actually makes money for the state.

The current program is scheduled to expire this year. The bill would extend it to 2027. The committee has another hearing on the bill today. (Tue.)
