BBB says Look Out For Charity Scams

The Better Business Bureau is warning people of the dangers of charity scams. Don O’Brien of the BBB regional office describes how they work.

O’Brien says the best thing a prospective donor can do is research the charity, be on the lookout for vague descriptions, and not to feel pressured to give on the spot. Research can be done through a state registry, the IRS, or by checking BBB charity accreditation at give.org.
