Arrest Made in Columbia Fire

A Columbia man has been arrested in connection to the fire that killed someone early Friday morning. The Columbia Police Department arrested 31-year-old Steven Martin Strumpf for the fire in the 3900 block of Deerfoot Way. He faces charges of murder, arson and armed criminal action. About 12:20 Friday morning, officers, along with the Columbia Fire Department responded to a report of a house fire. The investigation revealed the presence of accelerants adjacent to the body.
