Area Residents Reminded to Check and Safely Remove Ticks

As the weather warms-up and Missourians begin to head outdoors, the chances increase of encountering ticks. Randolph County Health Department Administrator Sharon Whisenand says tick removal will be covered during the Public Health Week Celebration this Wednesday.

The event will be held from 4 to 6 pm in the Randolph County Health Department Parking Lot. Whisenand adds it’s important to be tick aware.

Tick bites can spread illnesses such as Lyme Disease and Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever.
