The congregation of the Zion Lutheran Church in Moberly is once again hosting its annual Community Goodwill Thanksgiving Dinner. The meal will be held Thanksgiving Day from 11am-2pm in the Fellowship Hall of the Zion Lutheran Church. The co-chair of the Community Goodwill Thanksgiving Dinner, Amy Doepke says this event is so important for the community.

With the help of volunteers and donors nearly 1,200 meals were served last year. Doepke says they hope to feed as many, if not more people this year.

The dinner menu features turkey, dressing and all the trimmings. Volunteers are cooking turkeys throughout the week in preparation for the Thursday morning service. Doepke says volunteers are always needed.

Anyone interested in volunteering for the Community Goodwill Thanksgiving Dinner is encouraged to stop by the Zion Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall. Anyone needing a meal delivered is asked to call the church at 660-263-3256, extension 10, before 3pm on Wednesday.
