Wright Discusses Education Issues

The Moberly School Board in December put off a decision on possibly moving to a four-day school week, in part because it wanted to have a new superintendent in place. Cristina Wright will be the district’s next superintendent in July. She thinks the district should at least wait to see what lawmakers do this session.

She thinks the school choice bills pushed by some lawmakers could be problematic.

Wright says she appreciates the governor’s proposal to fully fund the transportation formula for schools, saying it’s critical for rural school districts.
