Undefeated South Shelby and Bowling Green Approach Moment of Truth In District Title Bout

A district championship is up for grabs as the 10-0 South Shelby Cardinals welcome the 11-0 Bowling Green Bobcats Friday night. South Shelby finished the regular season undefeated for the first time since 2000. The Cardinals took down Clark County 43-6 in the district quarterfinal. South Shelby has held eight of its ten opponents to six points or less, while averaging nearly 51 points per game. Coach Adam Gunterman.

The Bobcats feature a D1 talent in senior running back Bleyne Bryant, who has committed to play football for the University of Wyoming. Bowling Green handled Monroe City 51-6 in the previous game. Head coach Mark St. Clair says his team is ready to compete against the Cardinals.

Bowling Green has compiled three straight undefeated regular season campaigns. The Bobcats fell to Blair Oaks last year in the state semifinal. St. Clair says South Shelby presents multiple challenges to his team.

Senior running back Kendal Hammond has 34 total touchdowns for South Shelby. The Cardinals allow just 115 yards rushing per game this season. Gunterman shares his thoughts on the Bobcats.
