Truman Women Achieve Milestone-Men Avoid Heartbreak Again in Indy
The Truman women celebrated a pair of milestone performances and the men avoided last second heartbreak again at Indianapolis in a sweep of the Greyhounds this Sunday.
Katie Jaseckas became the 22nd Truman women’s player to score 1,000 points and Hannah Belanger became the first Bulldog player in almost 13 years to have a 30-point game in a 76-68 victory at UIndy. The Jaseckas milestone also helped the Bulldogs put the game away…

Belanger scored 34 points, including eight three-pointers. She was also part of 10 straight made free throws in the last three minutes….

Belanger’s eight triples tied for third most in a game, two off the programs record.
Last February, the Truman men lost at Indianapolis on a buzzer-beater. This time, Cory Miller’s running bank shot just outside the lane was no good and the Bulldogs held on for a 66-64 victory. The ‘Dogs trailed most of the game, including 64-60 with 3:16 left. After a pair of Cade McKnight free throws, North Dakota transfer Elijah Hazekamp hit the biggest shot in his young Bulldog career….

After a stop, Turner Scott connected on one-of-two free throws with seven seconds left. Bulldog coach Jeff Horner said they won on less than their best day…

McKnight led all scorers with 15 points and Dylan Peeters had his second straight double-double with 14 points and 14 rebounds.
Both Truman teams are 2-0, while both UIndy teams are 0-2. The Bulldogs are off until Saturday when they head to Missouri-St. Louis.
