Truman Teams Light It Up From Distance In A Sweep Of SBU

The Truman women snapped an eight-game losing streak, while the men won their second conference game in a row, in a sweep of Southwest Baptist at Pershing Arena Thursday night.

Claire Rake scored a career-high 23 points to lead the Bulldogs to a 99-75 win over SBU….

Truman made 16 three-pointers and dished out 27 assists, which are both top ten single game totals all-time. Maddie Niemeier registered her first double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds. Bailey Kliewer added 19. The Bulldogs picked up their first GLVC win and improve to 4-11. Tori Hamilton of Paris scored ten points for SBU. The Bearcats drop to 4-6 in the conference and 8-8 overall.

Trey Shearer keyed an early second half burst to lead Truman to an 84-58 victory over Southwest Baptist….

Shearer led all scorers with 24 points. Kobi Williams scored 17 of his 19 in the first half and the Bulldogs led by six at the break. Coach Jeff Horner challenged his team….

Truman hit 15-of-32 three-pointers. The Bulldogs are now 3-4 in the GLVC and 6-9 overall. SBU drops to 1-7 in the league and 5-11.
