Truman Sweeps Rockhurst
The Truman State basketball teams started their homestand with a sweep of Rockhurst Thursday night at Pershing Arena. The Bulldog men shot 60 percent in the second half and pulled away from the Hawks for an 81-60 victory. The ‘Dogs led 29-24 at halftime but got separation by hitting seven of their first nine shots from distance in the second half….

Turner Scott scored all 14 of his points in the second half. Coach Jeff Horner discussed how his team went from 29 first half points to 52 in the second half…..
Horner had five players score in double figures and one player that didn’t, Alex McQuinn, had double figure rebounds with 12. The Bulldogs limited Rockhurst leading scorer Curtis Lewis to nine points. The Hawks drop to 12-7 overall and 8-3 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. The ‘Dogs improve to 9-2 in the GLVC and 13-6 overall.
In the women’s game, Truman outscored Rockhurst in the paint 52-26 and beat the Hawks 85-75. The Bulldogs couldn’t shake their visitors until late in the game….
Katie Jaseckas led Truman with 22 points and Maddie Re added 19. Coach Theo Dean talked about his one-two punch inside….
Dean’s Bulldogs improve to 10-1 in the GLVC and 14-4 overall. Rockhurst was led by Madeline Ronshausen (rons-how-zun) with 22. The Hawks dip to 3-8 in the conference and 9-10 overall.
