Truman Men Knock Off First Place UIndy As Part Of A Sweep

The Truman men knocked off first place Indianapolis as part of a sweep in the Hoosier State Saturday.

In that men’s game, the Bulldogs hit 12 of their first 15 three-point shots in the first half in an 85-76 victory over UIndy. Four of those triples came in a 13-nothing run…..

Brad Boyer with the calls on Superstation KRES and centralmoinfo.com. The Bulldogs led 52-32 at halftime and the Greyhounds could only get as close as nine late. Coach Jeff Horner talked about the hot shooting first half….

Horner won his 100th career game. Trey Shearer led Truman with 22 points, Kobi Williams scored 20 and Xavier Hall added 19th. It was the fourth straight win for the ‘Dogs, who bump up to 3rd in the new PRS rankings in the GLVC. Truman is 8-6 in conference play and 11-11 overall. UIndy is still 1st in the PRS. The Greyhounds drop to 11-3 in the GLVC and 15-7 overall.

The Truman women scored the first 11 points and led most of the game in a 79-72 win over Indianapolis. The Bulldogs led by seven in the fourth quarter, but UIndy came back to tie twice. Both times Maddie Niemeier had an answer….

Coach Theo Dean on Niemeier’s career-high 18 points….

Ellie Weltha added 17 points. Five Bulldogs scored in double figures. Truman improves to 3-13 in the GLVC and 6-16 overall. The Greyhounds drop to 8-8 and 11-11.
