Truman Men Complete Best Shooting Road Trip-Women Lose Road Win Streak

The Truman men followed up their record-setting shooting night (70.4) Thursday with the program’s second best field goal percentage in an 89-73 victory at Indianapolis today. The Bulldogs shot 66% and scored 89 points for the second straight game to sweep the road trip. Truman raced out to a 22 point lead only to have the Greyhounds close to within six at 42-36. Brad Boyer with the call on Superstation KRES and centralmoinfo.com. The Bulldogs extended the lead back to 18 after break, but UIndy rallied again and got the margin down to four. Four free throws from Masen Miller and Cade McKnight sandwiched around a McKnight bucket got the lead back to 10. Coach Jeff Horner watched his Bulldogs go 22-25 from the line, which was 14 points better than the Greyhounds…..

Miller scored 22 and McKnight had 19. The Bulldogs improve to 15-6 overall and 9-4 in the GLVC. Cory Miller, Junior hit seven threes and led all scorers with 23. UIndy drops to 11-7 and 5-5 in the conference.

In the women’s game, UIndy hit six first quarter three-pointers to jump out to an 11 point lead and cruised to a 70-59 win over Truman. The Bulldogs only got as close as four in the second half to stop their eight-game road winning streak. The Greyhounds made 11 treys, which was seven more than Truman. Coach Theo Dean….

Hannah Belanger led all scorers with 20 and Ellie Weltha added 15. The Bulldogs drop to 11-3 in the GLVC and 15-7 overall. Lauren With had 17 for the Greyhounds who improve to 8-11 and 5-6 in the league.
