Last week, the Macon School District announced the hiring of Jeff Jones as the new principal of Macon High School for the 2022-23 school year. Outgoing principal Dr. Brent Hodge explains the interview process.

Jones brings 13 years of educational experience to Macon as a teacher, a college and career coordinator, and an administrator. He previously served as the Moberly High School Principal from 2018 to 2021. He is currently teaching in the Centralia School District. Hodge says Jones’ familiarity with the area helped in the hiring process.

While Jones will fill Hodge’s position as Macon High School Principal in the upcoming school year, Hodge will be taking over as Macon Superintendent for a retiring Scott Jarvis. Hodge says the transition process is underway for all three of them.

Jones and Hodge will start their new positions on July 1st.
