The Champs Are Back: Salisbury Reaches Third Show Me Showdown in Four Years

The defending state champion Salisbury Panthers have reached the Show Me Showdown again. They led the entire way in beating the Harrisburg Bulldogs 57-41 Saturday. The Panthers got out to a 10-2 lead before Harrisburg got back to within two. Salisbury led 13-9 after one and 26-19 at half. The Bulldogs kept lingering in the third.

Austin Ward with the calls on KIRK and centralmoinfo.com. Cooper Francis led Salisbury with a game-high 24 points, the biggest bucket coming late in the third.

Mason Stapleton added 17 and Hayden Wooldridge chipped in 13 for the 28-2 Panthers. Coach Kenny Wyatt said the defense came up big.

The Bulldogs close the season 19-12 and return Combs along with starters Bryce Ott and Caleb Sager next year.

Wyatt wants his kids to enjoy this win.

Their semifinal will be Wednesday at 4 against either Plattsburg or Weaubleau.
