Missourians looking to celebrate the Fourth of July this weekend will have to combat some of the higher temperatures seen this summer. Meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Pleasant Hill, Sarah Atkins, says warm temperatures will be in place for much of the area this weekend.

Warmer temperatures also bring with them a higher risk of heat stroke and heat exhaustion. Atkins talks about some of the warning signs of these heat-related illnesses.

Atkins also advises anyone out and about during the holiday weekend to take the necessary precautions by drinking plenty of water and taking breaks in the shade or air-conditioning when necessary.
