SEC Preview: New Auburn Head Coach Harsin Explains Mentality

New Auburn head coach Bryan Harsin guided his alma mater Boise State for seven seasons. The former college quarterback addresses the added scrutiny in the SEC.

Harsin also coached Arkansas State in 2013. The new Auburn head coach gained his lone Power Five experience when he served two years as Texas’ co-offensive coordinator. Harsin reveals the culture he looks to establish at Auburn.

Harsin replaces Gus Malzahn, who Auburn fired after the Tigers finished the regular season 6-4. Junior quarterback Bo Nix evaluates the receivers.

Nix referenced former Georgia receiver Demetris Robertson. The five-star recruit Robertson struggled at Georgia after a stellar freshman season at Cal. Nix enters his third year as Auburn’s starting quarterback.

Nix and Auburn host Akron September 4th. The Tigers open SEC action opposite the LSU Tigers October 2nd. Auburn doesn’t face Mizzou in 2021.
