Salisbury’s Kenny Wyatt Named 2022-23 Missouri Boys Basketball Coach of the Year

Salisbury boys basketball coach Kenny Wyatt was recently named the 2022-23 Missouri Boys Basketball Coach of the Year. Wyatt says he appreciates the recognition.

The Panthers went 29-3 on their way to the program’s first state title since 2013. The team had to overcome the loss of junior London White, who died at the beginning of the week of the state finals. Wyatt explains the role he his and assistants played during that week.

The Panthers entered the fourth quarter of both the semifinal and championship games tied before scoring 20 points each time to claim the state title. Wyatt says the community support meant a lot this season and through the years.

The Panthers will seek back-to-back state titles with several key returners, including leading scorer Cooper Francis. Wyatt discusses the roster makeup.

Salisbury will begin their quest for a second straight title when they host New Franklin on November 21st.
