Rivals Moberly and Mexico Start NCMC Stretch

Moberly hosts Mexico in an NCMC rivalry doubleheader Tuesday on KWIX. The girls teams are fresh off the Macon Tournament, and the Mexico boys return to Macon Wednesday.

Mexico enters 5-9 after it lost to NCMC favorite Kirksville in the Macon Tournament semifinals Saturday. The Bulldogs are 2-1 in conference.

The girls game is a rematch of Saturday’s Macon Tournament semifinal. Mexico head coach Ed Costley discussed the keys to the 54-48 win.

Costley referenced Mary Billington, who scored her 1,000th career point on a free throw in the third quarter Saturday. Moberly head coach Tony Vestal reflected on the senior’s milestone.
