Retiring MSHSAA Executive Director Talks Hiring Process and Future of High School Sports

Retiring MSHSAA Executive Director Dr. Kerwin Urhahn indicates applications for his replacement are due Friday.

The MSHSAA executive director announced in December he will retire at the end of the school year. Urhahn discusses the future of high school sports.

In addition to his MSHSAA duties, Urhahn held a four-year term on the National Federation of High School State Associations Board of Directors.

Urhahn served as the NFHS president for 2020-21.

Urhahn reflects on 16 years with MSHSAA.

Urhahn was previously Portageville’s superintendent after he filled various teaching and sports roles at Bloomfield High School.
