Lawmakers honored Randolph County Sheriff Aaron Wilson at the Capitol Wednesday. Wilson resuscitated former Missouri Senator Ed Emery at a Randolph County campaign event in August before Emery later died. The sheriff says the Capitol recognition was a surprise.

The 71-year-old Emery collapsed at the Randolph County Federated Republican Women’s meeting August 3rd, then died August 6th. Sheriff Wilson recaps what transpired during Emery’s speech.

Wilson indicates he assisted Emery for about 40 minutes.

Wilson says Representative Ed Lewis facilitated the Capitol ceremony. The late Emery was campaigning for a seat in the U.S. House of Representatives for Missouri’s 4th Congressional District.
