Rachel Harding Named New Slater Athletic Director
Current Slater girls’ basketball coach Rachel Harding has been named the school’s new athletic director. Harding takes over for Dillon Yung who is departing the district to become the boys basketball coach at Pilot Grove. Harding says she’s learned a lot from Yung.
Harding is a 2016 graduate of Reeds Spring High School. After high school, she attended College of the Ozarks. Harding discusses her early focus as athletic director.
The 2023-24 school year will be her third at Slater. One focus heading into Harding’s first year as Slater Athletic Director will be renovations to the football field.
Harding adds she will also need to familiarize herself with the eight-man game.
Slater takes over the Brunswick-Keytesville-Northwestern co-op’s schedule for its first year of eight-man football. The Wildcats are coming off a 2-8 season in 2022.
