Peterson Looks to Continue Winning Tradition at Marceline

After a state championship appearance last year, the Marceline Tigers look to continue their winning ways under first year head coach Joey Peterson. Peterson says the opportunity to coach at Marceline is special.

Peterson takes over after coaching Macon the second half of last season. The Tigers lose 22 seniors from a team that finished 12-2 a year ago. Peterson adds there are several younger players ready to take leaps this year.

Marceline has captured six district championships since 2013. Peterson believes Marceline having a target on its back from other teams is a good thing.

Marceline takes on St. Vincent to start the season August 27th. You can hear the full interview with Peterson on the Kickoff Show on KRES next Thursday, August 25th at 6:05.
