Upper Iowa completed a sweep of the home-and-away to improve to 4-3 overall and 2-2 in the GLVC. Ellie Weltha scored 16 points and Claire Rake added 14 for the 3-7 Bulldogs, who have dropped four in a row, all in conference play. The Truman women will have an exhibition game with Blackburn on December 30th, before getting back into league play at home against Indianapolis.
The Upper Iowa men connected on 16 three-pointers and bounced back from a loss at Truman a week ago to post a 105-79 victory over the Bulldogs. The Peacocks had three players score at least 20 points, including Jake Hilmer, who went over 2,000 points for his career. ‘Dogs coach Jeff Horner said his defense had a letdown….
Xavier Hall led four Bulldogs in double figures with 14. CE Talton, of Monroe City, added ten. The Bulldogs drop to 3-5 and 1-1 in the GLVC. Upper Iowa is also 1-1 in the league and 5-4 overall. Truman will next play in Las Vegas on December 18-19th against Pittsburg State and Central Missouri.
