Pair of Macon Golfers Sign with Central Methodist

A pair of Macon High School golfers will be continuing their careers on the links at Central Methodist University in 2020. Macon seniors Trace Brown and Natalie Burnam signed with the Eagles last week. Brown says there were a couple of different attractions to signing with Central Methodist.

Central Methodist is resurrecting both their men’s and women’s golf programs after there were suspended at the end of the 2016-17 academic year. While Brown is excited to be joining the revived CMU golf program he recognizes there are goals to accomplish this spring.

Last year, Brown qualified for sectionals but failed to reach the Class 2 State Tournament. For Natalie Burnam, playing golf in college is a dream come true after getting her start in the sport at a young age.

Burnam finished her senior season at Macon this past fall with a 37th place finish in Sectionals. She says she’s excited about various aspects of going to school and playing golf at Central Methodist.

Burnam plans to major in psychology at CMU.
