North Shelby Captures First 8-Man District Title

North Shelby captured its first district title in 8-man football Friday with a 60-12 victory over the St. Paul Lutheran Saints. After the Raiders defense forced a three-and-out on the first series, the Raiders offense found the end zone on its first play from scrimmage.

Stoneburner rushed for 133 yards and five touchdowns in the first half. The Raiders rushed for 249 yards in the first half and forced six turnovers on defense to take a 60-12 lead into halftime. North Shelby head coach David Stuckey described how special the district title win was for the program.

Stuckey says the preparation for next week remains the same regardless of opponent.

St. Paul Lutheran finishes its season 8-4. North Shelby hosts Worth County next week in the state semifinals.
