North Shelby 8-man football graduated eight key seniors from their state quarterfinal run last year. Coach Seth Bass believes the Raiders will be in a good spot entering 2020.

The Raiders return 11 players who saw significant varsity time last year. Junior Cale Stoneburner is expected to be under center and play a big role in North Shelby’s offense.

North Shelby’s defense was one of the better ones in 8-man football last year. The Raiders allowed almost 27 points per game. Bass expects the defense to be a staple once again.

A welcome addition for the North Shelby Raiders is the new teams entering the 8-man ranks. The Raiders have both Schuyler County and the Keytesville/Northwestern coop on the schedule.

North Shelby opens their season at home against Santa Fe. You can hear more from Bass and other area football coaches on our kickoff show next Thursday at 5:30 on KRES.
