The Moberly man arrested in November and charged with abuse or neglect of a child, now faces a charge in a different case. Randolph County Prosecuting Attorney Stephanie Luntsford filed the charge against 23-year-old Zachary Mohr.

Earlier this month, Mohr was given a seven year sentence following a hearing to revoke probation on yet another case. Luntsford was asked if the new charge could impact the case where abuse or neglect of a child was filed.

The formal charge of abuse or neglect of a child was filed against Mohr following the incident in November. Randolph County Children’s Division learned a 10-month-old baby had been flown from Moberly Regional Medical Center to St. Louis Children’s Hospital for treatment, and was initially in critical condition after trauma to the brain along with injuries to the face and body. According to the Moberly Police, the suspect admitted to officers he became angry with the child when she continually cried, striking her numerous times with items that included a cell phone and a metal tool box. The baby is now in a rehabilitation facility.
