The Moberly Board of Education selected Dr. Tim J. Roling as the district’s next superintendent with a 7-0 vote Wednesday. Roling is the current Cole Camp R-I School District superintendent after he served Moberly in another role from 2003-15. Roling explains how the new position developed.

The future Moberly superintendent worked 10 years as Moberly’s assistant superintendent for human resources and student services as well as director of special education and middle school assistant principal. Roling reflects on the interview process.

Superintendent Roling elaborates on his goals for the Moberly School District.

Roling earned a Bachelor of Science in Special Education from the University of Missouri, his Master of Education Administration from William Woods University, his Specialist of Education Administration from the University of Central Missouri, and his Executive Doctor of Education from Saint Louis University. Moberly Board of Education Vice President Amy Hager says, “We are confident in his (Roling’s) vision and passion for student success and promoting a positive school culture for our students, teachers, staff, and all community stakeholders. I am so proud of the accomplishments our district has made under the leadership of Dr. Miller, and I am excited about Dr. Roling’s return to Moberly and believe he will bring his own touch to take us to the next level.” Moberly Board of Education President Bobby Riley says, “This process included an online community survey and specific input from stakeholder groups to aid in the selection. The Board narrowed an extensive field of applicants and chose to interview five sitting superintendents.” Roling will replace Dr. Matt Miller effective July 1st. Miller resigned in December when he accepted the Kearney School District superintendent job. Hear a full interview with Dr. Tim Roling below.
