Moberly Chamber of Commerce Wins Innovator Award for Junk Junktion

The Moberly Area Chamber of Commerce won the Innovator Award last week at the Missouri Governor’s Conference on Tourism. The chamber received the award for Junk Junktion and the economic impact the event had on the Moberly Depot District in 2021. Chamber Executive Director Megan Schmitt says this is great recognition for the community.

The Innovator Award honors a small tourism organization or individual which achieves significant results on a modest budget. Schmitt explains how they were named for the award.

The 2021 Junk Junktion had a direct economic impact of over 1.8-million dollars. The economic impact from this year’s event is still to be determined. Schmitt says they’re looking to continue to improve Junk Junktion for future years.

The Moberly Area Chamber of Commerce is currently focusing on several upcoming events to close out 2022, including the Christmas Festival on December 3rd.
