Missouri Legislators Considering Hyperloop Bill
For the past several years there has been talk about constructing a Hyperloop track between St. Louis and Kansas City. This tubular track would carry passengers in a pod at speeds of up to 640 miles-per-hour. Legislators are now considering a bill which would construct a 15 mile Hyperloop test track in the state. Representative Kip Kendrick of Columbia is excited about the Hyperloop concept.
The bill would set up a test track and set parameters for what a full Hyperloop track would look like. Kendrick says this bill doesn’t mean a full Hyperloop track is in the state’s immediate future.
If the bill is approved Kendrick is hopeful the test track will be constructed in mid-Missouri. The Hyperloop bill includes a provision which would prevent the use of eminent domain for the project.
