Mexico Sewer Rates Going Up

Mexico residents will see an increase in their sewer rates. City Manager Bruce Slagle says the city needed to adjust the rates to pay for ongoing expenses and repairs.

For a typical residential customer using about five thousand gallons a month, the total fee will go from $44.54 to $48.07. The city also received a state block grant of more than 630 thousand dollars to pay for work at the airport.

The Mexico City Council also approved rezoning seven acres for development of Teal Lake Estates Phase Two. The project would include 28 two-bedroom apartments and 12 three-bedroom duplexes.
