MACC Splits at State Fair

The Moberly Greyhounds beat State Fair 69-66 in the Region 16 opener in Sedalia Wednesday, while the Lady Hounds lost 68-57.

The men were tied at 24 late in the first half before Moberly grabbed some momentum.

J.B. Connoley with the call on KWIX and Moberly led by three at the half, and led by as many as 10 before State Fair came back late to go up four. Tied in the final minute, the Greyhounds hit six free throws to pull out the win. Javaris Moye led all scorers with 19, including four of the final six free throws. Coach Pat Smith.

16th-ranked Moberly is now 13-3, 1-0 in the region, and winners of seven straight. State Fair falls to 6-11, and 0-1.

After trailing by 21 late in the third quarter, Moberly eventually cut the margin to six.
