MACC Splits at State Fair

The Moberly Greyhounds beat State Fair 69-66 in the Region 16 opener in Sedalia Wednesday, while the Lady Hounds lost 68-57.

The men were tied at 24 late in the first half before Moberly grabbed some momentum.

Tied in the final minute, the Greyhounds hit six free throws to pull out the win. Javaris Moye led all scorers with 19, including four of the final six free throws. Coach Pat Smith.

16th-ranked Moberly is now 13-3, 1-0 in the region, and winners of seven straight. State Fair falls to 6-11, and 0-1.

After trailing by 21 late in the third quarter, Moberly eventually cut the margin to six.

The Lady Hounds fall to 8-7, 0-1 in Region 16. State Fair is 14-1, 1-0 in the region. Moberly hosts Mineral Area Saturday night. Pregame at 4:50, women at 5, men about 7 on KWIX and centralmoinfo.com.
