Local Coach Tony Phillips Died

Tony Phillips, who was hired last week as the head coach of New Bloomfield girls basketball team, and assistant for the softball, died Tuesday in his sleep. Phillips graduated from New Bloomfield in 1994. Phillips coached football, baseball, and girls basketball at Southern Boone for 15 years, and the Jefferson City boys basketball team for two.
