A project to learn which varieties of lavender grow best in Missouri could have practical applications for small businesses and home gardeners. Jennifer Schutter (SHOOTER), the field specialist in horticulture at the Adair County Extension office, says lavender’s calming effect has people using it in a variety of ways.
Schutter points out you can also make syrup.
A lavender workshop will be held at the Adair County Extension office June 29th, from 6 until 8 that evening. To register, visit extension.missouri.edu, or call your local extension office. There will also be workshops in Springfield July 13th, and Ste. Genevieve August 11th.
