The Missouri Highway and Transportation Commission approved a rehabilitation project for Interstate 70 bridges over Perche Creek in Boone County. Emery Sapp and Sons had the winning bid of 2.4 million dollars. The projects consists of the rehabilitation of the bridges, west of Columbia. I-70 will be open to traffic, but there will be various lane closures and a temporary barrier wall will be in place. Only one bridge will be under construction at a time. The I-70 eastbound on-ramp from the Midway/Route UU interchange will be closed during the rehabilitation of the eastbound bridge. Midway/Route UU traffic will be detoured to the Route O/J interchange in order to access eastbound I-70. The project is scheduled to be completed by December. The bridges are included in Governor Mike Parson’s Focus on Bridges Program.
