The Kansas City Royals have announced former owner and chairman David Glass has died. Glass died late last week at the age of 84 due to complications from pneumonia. His death comes just two months after he sold the team to John Sherman. Glass served as the owner of the Royals for the past 20 years. During his time as owner, the Royals won back-to-back American League pennants in 2014 and 2015, along with the team’s second-ever World Series title in 2015. Prior to owning the Royals, Glass had served as the president and CEO of Walmart for twelve years.
