Former Center Clerk Pleads Guilty

Former Clerk for the Ralls County community of Center, Tracey Ray has pleaded guilty to one count of wire fraud and one count of federal program theft, according to the state prosecutor. WGEM-TV reports Ray appeared Friday before United States District Court Judge Rodney Sippel.

Beginning in January 2015 and continuing through July 2019, Ray is accused of engaging in a scheme to defraud and obtain over $317,000 from Center, by means of false and fraudulent pretenses, representations, and promises.
