St Louis Cardinals pitcher Jack Flaherty came in fourth for the National League Cy Young Award voted on by the Baseball Writers’ Association of America. Flaherty finished with 69 points, collecting five votes for second place, 11 third place, six fourth place and four fifth place. New York Mets pitcher Jacob deGrom won the award for the second straight year and received 29/30 first place votes. Hyun-Jin Ryu of the Los Angeles Dodgers received the other first place vote and came in second. Washington Nationals and former Mizzou hurler Max Scherzer finished three points ahead of Flaherty for third.
