Farm Succession Planning Workshop Series To Visit Macon

University of Missouri Extension will host a series of workshops over the next two weeks, encouraging farm families to begin the process of setting in place their farm’s succession plan.  Ag business specialist Mary Sobba, who will co-host the session August 8th in Macon, says a succession plan is critical to ensuring a farm’s seamless transition to the next generation.

Among the topics participants will explore is not only setting up a succession plan, but also contingency plans in the event of a short-term crisis.

MU Extension ag business specialist Mary Sobba will co-host the session in Macon set for August 8th from noon to 2 p.m. at the Crossroads Christian Church.

Seven additional sessions will be hosted around the state, beginning Monday evening in Bolivar and ending August 10th with a virtual workshop. The workshops are free and hosted by MU Extension in partnership with the Missouri Department of Agriculture and Farm Credit Services.  Sign-up information for each workshop can be found on the University of Missouri Extension website.
